AIR TO SURFACE: PUTTING FEET TO OUR PRAYERS

WHAT IS PROXIMATE INTERCESSION?

Proximate intercession simply means putting feet to your prayers by being physically present in the place that is prayed for. Through on-site positioning, the Lord provides much needed insight to fuel prayer and release strategy for Spirit led action.

PRAYER WALKING

Inspired by God’s promise to Joshua, we can walk the victory of Jesus into every part of our neighborhoods, cities, and nations. We walk in faith, believing that as the soles of our feet hit the ground, we are appropriating the work of Jesus over the principalities and powers that influence the atmosphere and shape the narratives of our culture. We can also ask for healing for our lands and pray specifically for those who live around us.

Romans 16:20 says, “And the God of Peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.” We believe that each step we take in Jesus’ name, weakens the enemy’s grip in the supernatural realm and releases divine peace into our world. Prayer walking engages all of our senses while putting us in proximity to the need. The sounds, sights, and smells that we experience, arouse us to cry out to God as we walk with defiant hope into every corner of our communities.

Now, more than ever, we need to be paying attention to what God is doing in the world around us. While we pray for victory, let us remember the way that victory was won by Jesus himself – through sacrificial, self-emptying, love. The people and situations that Jesus brings us into encounter with along the way, will demand withdrawals from the riches of the glory that He has deposited within us.
